Default Health bill

I tried reading some of the bill............I would like to think that someone knows whats there but I sure got lost........a value given for a value received is my thought. Somehow I tend to think that congress has enough funny stuff in the bill to make sure they all get re-elected. I have no trust in congress at all. Our nation was founded based on a document of 2 handwritten pages? 1000 plus pages in the health proposal? Strange world.....Tass

Generally, the more the better with insurance and it's less money leaving our country for Mexico in duffle bags and FedEx packages. So what's better....some sickly illegal at the ER looking for free service, which we all pay for, or somebody that's paid into the system (whatever that's going to be)? It seems to me that I'd rather have them pay, then me pay for them. Is this some kind of backdoor for illegals to eventually gain citizenship....who knows.

Obama said ‘there remain some significant details to be ironed out.’ I guess so....
President Obama has very carefully, again, left the back door open, he knows that he won't get support for illegals healthcare coverage and isn't really concerned about that anyway. He will try and give them all amnesty so they will still all get covered anyway! Why?... He will be expanding his voters base! His supporters are mainly poor minority's who listen to his promises and think he will fix all that's wrong in there lives. At the same time his economic plan is making middle class Americans poorer, thus expanding his base even further! He will try and impose higher taxes on company's who in turn will cut back or go completely out of business or move overseas, putting even more Americans out of work and expanding his voting base further yet! All while making grand promises about how he will make their lives better with more and more government programs to help them in these "tough economic times"!
It's all just smoke and mirrors! Baffle em with bullshit!

Nah. I voted for him along with a lot of people I know, and a majority of Americans elected him over a Republican. You cover yourself with the word "mainly" poor. This is where you're wrong. Take a look at the demographics of who voted for Obama.

If you've ever taken a political science course, one of the first things you learn is that, A: People generally vote the way their parents vote, and B: Poor people don't vote.

Poor, uneducated people did not elect Obama. A greater % of people making over 200K voted for Obama, and the majority of those Americans are not "poor" people as you suggest, but did not come out and say. Am I "putting words in your mouth"...no. Simply making a statement the directly refutes your primary point.

So you think this is all new and different, ehhh?.....How quickly we forget, or maybe we never cared to know about the bullshit at the time:

To realize his vision of what he calls "the new America," President George W. Bush proposed a dramatic and sweeping expansion of American immigration policy, including amnesty for an estimated 9 million to 12 million illegal aliens living in the U.S.

Although the president and administration officials insist the proposal is not amnesty, illegal aliens will not be prosecuted for violating immigration law, and will instead receive eligibility to apply for "green cards" and eventual U.S. citizenship without penalty if U.S. employers are willing to give them jobs. The proposal dramatically expands U.S. immigration policy by eliminating current limits on the number of foreigners entering the country to work. "The president has long talked about the importance of having an immigration policy that matches willing workers with willing employers," said White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.

I let my voice be heard during the Bush years about how I felt on amnesty for illegals too! IMO they are here, in this country, ILLEGALLY! And that makes them criminals! They should go home, and then if they want to enter OUR country LEGALLY, pass the test to become an American citizen, and fully assimilate themselves into OUR culture, be a contributing member of OUR society and speak English fluently. Then they would be welcome.

I don't align myself with any one political party. I try to stay reasonably informed on issues that I feel are important, not only to me but to our nation as a whole. I tend to have a much more conservative view about most of them than you do Funride, and have learned that most but not all younger people even if they start out with liberal views and tenancies, become more conservative as they get older and wiser. Conservatives seem to be more concerned about the welfare of their family's, community's and country than liberals are. Liberals seem to be much more concerned about what's best for them personally, rather than looking at the issues as a whole and how they will affect others in the long run.

I will not stand on the sideline idle while I see my country's freedoms and traditions being usurped by an ever expanding and controlling government!

Unlike some people who think the current administration can do no wrong, I disagreed with a few things Bush did during his terms.

Amnesty to illegals is just plain wrong, no matter who proposes it. I don't buy the bs that they are contributing to our economy. So are the pedophiles who are here legally, so maybe that's who they'll want to give amnesty to next?

What really burns my butt is seeing all these illegals at rallies waving the Mexican flag. Come here illegally, bitch about not being treated like a citizen then wave another countries flag while doing it? It's fine here, but I can't go to Mexico and wave and American flag in a public gathering. It's against the law there to show another countries flag at a rally.

One of the main reasons I had to hold my nose when voting for Mccain was his stance on illegal immigrants. I was ticked by Bush and anyone else that supported the "look the other way" policies that are/were a national security issue. On the flip side, I wonder when Obama will stop the wiretapping of calls to Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. There was a lot of griping about Bush doing it, but, to my knowledge, it is still being done. Does anyone know if it is still in place? I, for one, have mixed emotions about it. One of the few issues I don't have a strong opinion on.
