Guns on ATV/UTVs
Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but though it would be appropriate here.....
How many people carry a sidearm of some kind when they ride?
I usually carry a Colt .38 Special with 20 or so rounds. Just nice to have in case of whatever....psychos, bear attack, get sick of the clown(s) I'm riding with that particular day, etc. The .38 is pretty utility and I don't have to worry too much about a perfect finish or the holster getting marred.
What do you carry, if anything? If you don't carry on a rec vehicle, is there any particular reason you don't (aside from the fact that you don't own a sidearm)?

I don't carry when I ride simply because I don't want to get hassled by the law in either Maine or New Hampshire. NH especially doesn't care for the Mass. laws and doesn't reciprocate with them. Always carry a big folding Buck knife and now have a machete for the brush...
It's fun to have just shoot stuff while you're taking a break sometimes. I get some good deals on ammo, but damn can your burn through $20 bucks in a few minutes. Six rounds is basically a six-pack. .38 are pretty inexpensive which I like, but those .45 and .50 cal rounds are nuts...It's like $2 a shot. Hard to justify ripping through $40 in a couple minutes.

Hemi....I think you can run the cheap .38 rounds in your Mag....but I can't chamber .357Mag in my .38. The .38 rounds are a lot less $, just for fun shooting.
.357 revolver with a six inch barrel is about as accurate a gun as one could wish for, for me anyway. Just a joy to shoot. I've got a little Glock 9mm.....can't stand shooting it. You need all those rounds to hit anything.....but that's another topic for another forum I guess.
