Helmet cam footage is awesome!!!
#1
For those of you who may be in the market for a helmet cam or are curious if it actually works very well, let me tell you it works great!!! I was wearing it for the first time & taped the recent Rumble on The Ridge ATV/Dirt bike ride in Ohio. I let a lot of guys watch the helmet cam footage so far & they cant believe how good it came out. It's very close to digital quality, very clear, no static & very smooth even at high speed in the rough stuff. It even looked better than the helmet cam footage you see on TV that cuts out w/ static, is cloudy etc which I don't understand what set up they're using that causes their problems but mine is crystal clear. On the large conference room screen at work it's kind of like being at the omni max theater & people actually got up to leave because they were getting dizzy. People who never rode a quad were amazed. The below site is where I got mine. You learn a lot about a company only when thing's go wrong & my battery died after a couple weeks, which I now learned may have been my fault, but they sent me a new one Fed-x at no charge even if it wasn't covered by warranty. They are quad riders themselves & have been using their helmet cams for years now w/o any problems. If your in the market for such a thing I highly recommend them. I've watched this video a dozen times already, it's really cool. Unfortunately, I didn't know at the time of the ATV ride, what the red/green blinking light meant, which means I'm out of tape, so I only got half the ride or an hours worth. Digital uses twice the tape so a 2 hr tape only last 1 hr. What's nice w/ this cam is it uses a small switch that I mounted to the back hand of my throttle hand, that flashes different colors red/green etc, that let's you start & stop recording anytime you want which I did a lot, when I was stuck in line or waiting etc. Next time I'll be watching for the red/green blinking light so I can change the tape & capture the whole thing. It's amazing all the things you miss & don't see while your riding but when you play the tape back you can see it all the things you missed. I wish I could post the video for everyone to see but I'm too cheap to buy the software, cable, PC card etc to be able to down load it from my cam-corder to the computer. I think it's one of my best investments I've made because I know when I'm itching to ride in the middle of PA winter, I'll be playing the crap out of these tapes. Who knows, maybe some day I'll capture one of you in action along the trail. Later,
