Get the 5-spd if you want to play! I have a 87 GT that runs in the 12s (1/4 mile)....its ALOT of fun on the street! With a 5-spd and a set of lower rearend gears (I'd go with 3.55 or 3.73s) will really make it quick and solidly in the 13's (1/4 mile). Obcoarse, you could always put 4.10s in an automatic equiped car to waken it up too...but in my opinion I'd still go with a 5-spd for the fun factor! Get a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine...its the ULTIMATE info on Mustangs and it will make you a speed junky really fast!!! Careful though its addicting!! lol! Good luck!

Traction control keeps the car from spinning the tires in slippery conditions by either applying the brake to the wheel spinning (slightly obcoarse) or by cutting/retarding the timing/spark to the engine. Mustangs have a switch to de-activate the system so you can smoke the tires.

as stated above, the traction control retards, in fact, I think it cuts you back to 4 cylinders, and applys ABS as needed. Works great in wet weather. It only kicks in if one tire is spinning at a diff RPM then the other. So, if you are spinning them both, it won't kick in
