02Polaris700, you forgot to mention that us Americans get to pay for his lifelong stay(taxes). Whatever the judges motivation was, political or heartfelt, it was still a good speech. I definitely agree, his lights should have been put out long ago.

Polaris,
As long as the majority of voters in this country is motivated by the emotions instilled in them by the church, you will never see an overwhelming acceptance of capital punishment. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way bashing religion... I merely feel that too many people allow their church to make their decisions and to tell them what their feelings should be on such matters.

polaris,
Living in the belt buckle of the bible belt, we see major influences here regarding church pressures in politics. Large church officials carry an enormous amount of power by being able to influence large numbers of voters during church. You can't walk into a sunday sermon here without having a preacher tell you what you should be voting for in the next upcoming election. They speak (during sermon) of everything from abortion to welfare to you guessed it... Captal Punishment. And, not only do the church officials have major power among the people but many churches in the Southwest have huge amounts of money, given by patrons, for use in politics. These dollars are controlled by either the pastor, or a church council consisting of 3-5 older members of the church who have established themselves as leaders within the church. Now, while considering this major influx of power, keep in mind that all christian churches, including catholics, are completely pro-life; even though some of their patrons may disagree with such a view... who controls the money? the pastor or council. So far, no christian church in the united states has ran on the side of capital punishment. Starting to see how the churches play a major role in the fight to keep capital punishment legal? Oklahoma is one of the last states left to still use capital punishment and we go under the gun from groups all over the US every time we convict or inject someone. here is what the tragedy is about everything that has been mentioned above. 1.. i am a christian and i believe in certain rights to living and also believe in the fact that certain situations as in the terrorist attack people do that are beyond horrific in explanation need to be taken care of in a manner that i believe would be just. " EYE FOR AN EYE, TOOTH FOR A TOOTH". u ever heard this saying? well anyways if there is enough evidence that is true and not in anyway tainted evidence on someone who kills people just for the hell of it or just kill like dommer did. I more then agree with killin those SOB. I think everyone that is here has a certain aspect that is special in its own way but when u take it upon yourself to do such horrific things having no requard for human life and somewhat KNOW u won't pay the dire consequences of which should be layed down in such instances. I don't think anyone going to court should have death penalty if there is somewhat doubt about the liability of what they have done so they do in fact have time to maybe make their case that they didnt' do it, but what is bulls++t is that WHEN WE know that someone has did this and we just put them up for awhile as mentioned above. I think everyone should live and have a chance but when they think that they can just take lifes at random and not pay a dire consequence that is just sad. As i said every situation and everyone that goes for such should be taken as a case by case, not the rush em in rush em out kind of life we do have over here in america. 2.. in such an instance the bible states that the law of the bible and the law of land should be followed as such and if we are to do the death sentence we SHOULD have someone with some COMMON SENSE about these things to take a case and see which ones are to be looked at more at and one that won't be tainted by politics and money.. which in my opinion ALOT of people nowadays don't really have might be genious at rocket science but can't just get it in their mind if say everytime they blast one of those things off if say it kills someone here{just making this up not serous just example} they are just glad to see the rocket go but to care about the person dying its just science;;; 3:this is my opinions about what i am about to say: i know for example if someone to to come to my home and i was gone and say just come and break in and kill my wife and my kid who i love so dearly that or those SOB would get justice my justice i would kill every last one of em because i know the law IMO would not handle it or have any idea the impact that would have on my life and they would just treat it as JUST ANOTHER CASE but they lack the emotion for which it has now caused for me... for those who say that is not right well look at it this way they invaded my space, took what i most lived for besides god and didn't have the least bit of care as to how it was going to affect the rest of my life i would rather they have killed me then them... I MIGHT BE A LITTLE OVERBORED TELLING ANY OF U THIS BUT I AM SURE ALOT OF U THINK ALL CHRISTIANS THINK THEY SHOULD LIVE I SAY WE TAKE ALL WE CAN TAKE AND WHEN WE CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE WE LET GOD SORT EM OUT
