Sounds like fun, and is fun. Lot's of people do it. BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL, ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR YOUNG KID . I have seen a couple instances similar to the one mentioned above, only difference is they were kids being pulled by adults just having fun (no drinking involved). Sometimes my kids don't like having a dad that is a Firefighter, tend to be a little more cautious than others due to what we see I guess. I admit though I am normal and do stuff I probably shouldn't. If you are to stiff, life is no fun, just have to be careful You have to have some fun. Sorry for the rambling story, but I've seen a lot of kids injured and killed in "accidents". They are "accidents", nobody sets out to hurt anybody. Good Luck, Be Safe, and Have Fun.... Please don't take offense, I can tell you would be safe (I'm really not trying to say you wouldn't), you say you want to pull them around nice and slow. I'm just trying to say to everybody, please be careful.

Ride, Ride, Ride

I was thinking the same thing there quad4fun. I hear of deaths nearly every year for kids swinging out at a bad time and getting ran over. It's hard too say no when the kids wanna be pulled....so be safe and go slow around corners unless the road is blocked.

I use one of those 60 inch plastic toboggins, and pull up to 3 kids at a time. Our favorite place to go is on the frozen lakes, ...no trees, no cars, you can spin them around and not worry about them smashing into things. Plus its totally legal, and no one can hassle you about it.

I wide open place like that would be a blast and about as safe as you can get. Tubes would be great, would be just like riding on the water. I wish we could do that around here, never cold enough though. I can't imagine how far you would slide if you fell off ...Wahoooooooo

Ride Safe and Have Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

well i have been pulling my two brother for about liek 4 years now and i just use 130 pound water ski rope and i tie it around the ranchers hitch and take wide corners. i also reccomend useing metal washers and such when u put it on. ohter wise the plastic can brake and it sucks when that happens. i just take off easy and make shure they know how to jump off if its coming at me. i would recconemed 40-55 feet or rope and burn the end in and use a clevice. its been working for me. lol

We use about a 15ft rope and a truck inner tube with a smaller inner tube inside of it. I make the riders wear helmets. As others have stated this can be a lot of fun and I too have read of people being killed and injured doing it. A large lot, school yard or field is the only place to do it in. GO SLOW while cornering the tube will be going much faster than the quad.

we did that with a tobaggen behind my 225 moto-4. it was so much fun. we did it in a big open field with plenty of slowing down room. we were goin real fast. that is the most awesome thing to do on a quad.

Ah, nothing quite like flying through the snow in wide open fields. Before we had quads a few years ago, we used our Cherokee to drag my lil bro on an tube doing about 15-20mph. We have really good fields here, nothing but smooth land in lots of places. So the only real danger is rolling off the tube and well...rolling. We used a 20ft rope at first, then used a 30, then on up to about 50ft. The 50ft was the most fun. It would allow you to swing out almost 90degrees to the jeep. If it stopped, the momentum would keep you going and if it were down hill, it took a while to stop.
On a quad, you have alot more control over the vehicle and the danger is not nearly as great as it would be in a truck. We used a 20ft rope and had great results, as long as we didnt come to a dead stop in the snow with someone right behind us, it was ok. 50ft on an atv is pushing it. If its like a Polaris 700, then it might be ok, but on something like a 250-400, its not any good. About 20-30ft is a good distance, unless you really wanna be safe and just use a 15ft rope and go really slow with your child and wife. I wouldnt reccomend anything longer than 20 unless you and your buddies wanna get crazy and wanna have some real fun. I think it goes without saying, you dont wanna be slinging your family out behind you. Just keeping them in your tracks is what you are looking for im assuming. Just use common sense.
Oh, and a big ol 4x4 tow rope is great, them things wont ever break.
