Well, since your racing MX, your going to be hitting jumps so ill throw my knowledge out a bit. When your going to hit a jump (lets say a double), Hit it to where you will land in the middle of the double to get a good idea of how much speed you need to clear it, never undershoot a double, or any jump for that matter, IT HURTS! get up a good bit of speed, maybe more than you think you should, and hit it, if you go over the landing, you know your doing alright, next time just slow it down a little to see if you can clear it perfect, and note: figure out which gear to get it in before you hit the jump, 3rd is ussually a good gear to jump in on doubles depending on size. dont let off the throttle in the air unless your front end goes up, if this happens let off the gas and maybe even hit the brake if you have enough time, also, if you nosedive (not having enough power off the lip of the ramp to keep the front end up where it should), hit the gas, the momentum of the wheels will bring the backend down faster. Spend some time watching the other guys fron the stands. See where they start their turns, If they slide through a turn or just gass it etc.
You may also notice where they are screwing up and can try something different.
