sux don't it. I hate riding places I've ridden for years just to go one day and see a brand spank new NO TRESPASSING sign, or a gate put up. My riding just keeps getting smaller and smaller. I can't figure out why either, if there is already a trail there why not let people ride it, not like it hurts anything when you back in the head of nowhere on top of a mountain. Half the land I ride on is useless to anyone unless they want to sell it for mineral rights.

I had a simular problem with a nebr who thought he owned a 500 acor clearcut all to himself as his privet hunting ground. The Real land owner told us to ride and keep the weeds down. That was 10 years ago when i was in the 8th grade, to this day that crazy nebr keeps putting up signs and blocks the gate with boards. I dont ride there anymore, but do take hunting stands in with my quad.. that nebor is just mad that we shot a 6 point elk before he did
If you seriouly have asked to ride, and were told ok..just strait out tell the guy the truth.
Man, this brings back memorys, we also had a 200 acor ploud and disked field that was 2 feet deep in powder dirt. Talk about fun! well today one side is a nursery and the other is the guys house. Out of the 8 clearcuts we enjoyed rideing 10 years ago, there is only one left. My rule of thoumb is "you cant get caught if noone knows your there, keep your bike quiet"

I am riding on one thing. there is a small stream running through the middle of this property and it adjions a larger stream. Due to the larger amount of subdivisions being built around here the larger stream is getting contaminated with waist run off.so u can't build subdivsions around the larger stream any more. to rid himself of the pro the rich guy built a lake that seperates the creek all the way through his property.but they is no way U could build a big enough lake to simply make this stream go away. so i hope the gov't says no U can't build a subdivsion here.

b(250rman) be respectful to fellow atver's. eventhough U have your differences.some day we may have no place to ride at all.

Man i hear you guys. It's like that around here. In the 80's there was tons of land to ride on. But now with farmers going bankrupt, they are selling of their land, and the developers have moved in for the kill. There is a new subdivision going up in almost every vacant field or woodlot. It's really sad because it used to be so beatiful around here. So make sure to thank our government for making the american farmer an endangered species.

I live in KC MO and we had a good riding area right in town for 20 years. Because ATV's have got so popular, and every one (almost) can ride ATV's, like polaris, it got very crowded and people started riding up and down the street close to the park instead of in it. So it was getting bad and then IT HAPPENED!!! A woman rider new to the sport went up a steep hill and couldn't make it. When she rolled down the hill the wheeler crushed her head. Yes she had a helmet but it hit the front of her face with no face guard. She almost died. They called an ambulance from a cell phone and of course the ambulance couldn't get to her, they had to get her to the ambulance while she lost alot of blood!

SHE SUED the city that owned the proporty that let us ride there legally for 20 years, saying the city should have had better access to where she was, and they were negligable!!!

Can you believe that crap. So of course the city decides it's a liability to keep it open now, so they put fences around it and closed it. They even have the police patrol it to keep kids from trespassing.

I don't know if we should kill all the lawyers or the people that hire them. What do you think?????

The problem is, is that no matter how right you try to do something there is always something or someone thats going to screw it up, and it usually involves money or someone saying, well, several years ago I had a bad experience and I don't want anyone on my land. It really makes an honest person who tries to do right start being underhanded about the way they do things. Sorry, if I get going I'll write and write and really bore you, so I'll quit.
I know how you feel.
