My neighbor has this old dune buggy in their back yard. It has been sitting there for a long time and I am surethey will sell it too me. Anyway, the problem is that I want to figure out what kind it is so that I dont get it only to find out that it is really rare and I cant get parts for it. I dont have a pic right now but I can give a pretty good description.

It is small, like the size of a bigger go kart. It definitly looks vintage. Maybe 70's. It has a dark blue fiberglass body that looks like a dune buggy. I dont think it has suspension. It seats two and has a long steering column. It has a light bar with 2 lights on it. The gas tank is behind the seats below the body and the filler cap is chrome and is on the top in the middle almost on the edge in the back. It has a shifter that has forward and reverse. The engine is made by Kawasaki and is in the back. It is positioned so that the crank shaft is facing forward. It looks to be somewhere in the 8-12 hp range judging by its size, unless it is a 2 stroke. I am not sure on that. The wheels are orange and are not big but not small either. I could not find any other names on it.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

 

I've seen lots of Fiberglass dune buggies like that powered by VW engines but none with Kawasaki engines! Hmmmm you've lost me. Maybe an ARGO ?

 

it is not really like one of the VW dune buggies. The body is similar in style but is much smaller. Almost as small as a go kart. But it def is not a go kart though. I'll have to get a picture.
