Never had that problem yet, however people I know who have use some stuff called, "HEET" in a yellow or red bottle (two different kinds two different bottles). I've been told it works really well.

From what I've been told is even the gas pump tanks have water in them so your actually putting water in your tank at the pumps.

Can you see it in your tank?

I would get something that contains isopropyl alcohol which will absorb the water or better yet can you take the tank off or some way let it air dry.

Probably the best way, is to drain the tank, but if that isnt convienent, use HEET or other products that use isopropl( alcohol), dont use the methenal type stuff. Alcohol absorbs the water, and sends it thru the carb to be burned. Rubbing alcohol wont work, it already has too much added water.

The fuel pumps have multiple filters that would catch water or if your worried about that don't fill up when you see a tanker dumping his fuel load, it would get stirred up then if there tanks are extreme low.

I don't know if theres water in my tank but I was told that it's a good idea to treat your tank with every fill up for long term maintanance especially in colder weather after riding when the bike goes in a warm garage it causes condensation in the gas tank and inturn could screw up the floats in the carb. I guess I'll go and see if we have HEET here in Canada I need to find something thats inexpensive that i can put in, in every fillup. THANKS ALL HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Best thing is to drain tank. Iso Heet is the stuff as it has isopropyl alcohol (Red bottle).

Fill your tank on your way home from riding, keep it full. Like Raptoryfm660r says, don't buy gas when they are dumping a load at the station. Water settles on the bottom. first thing to leave the tank.
