Just wanted to pass along to everyone that I recently purchased a set of ramps from Sears.($125) These are the best ramps I've ever owned. They have a total capacity of 2,000lbs. And they fold in half for easy storage. If you're in the market for ramps, check them out, you won't be sorry... See ya in the mud....

Why do you need to buy planks?? Just a waste of money

I just use 2x10 plank boards(wood) for loading my atv on a truck.

Thats what I use. 2x10 spruce staging planks. I cut them to 6 feet long. I figure it this way, they work just as good as any other ramps, and they only cost me $10. And if someone rips them off while I am out on the trail, oh well, its only $10.

The ramps are appox. 14" wide and about 4 feet long when folded in half. When unfolded for use, they are arched so that you can also use them for loading other things such as lawn tractors that do not have the ground clearance that atv's do.
They attach to the tail-gate or bed of the truck for "safe" loading and unloading of your atv.
(Sorry, I like to promote safety and I personally do not like the use of wooden planks.) These ramps are rated at 1,000lbs. capacity each. Most of the ramps I've seen are only good for 1,000lbs. combined or only 500lbs. each. My Cat weighs over 700lbs by itself.
As far as security, on my truck I have one of those aluminum boxes that go behind the cab and both of the ramps fit in it.
Hope this answered your question's... BC

Ok, I completely agree with you. If you have the money, I don't see why not. But I do disagree with the safty issue. The 2x10 staging plank I am using is one of the toughest woods you can get, it would have no problem with your machine. I have seen a Sportsman being loaded with them. Plus, using the end caps that you can buy from just about any store, they to, will attach right to the truck. I also put ribs acrossed the planks for better traction.

Now, I am not trying to start anything here. I do believe your ramps are better. But, for me, the money I saved, and how good my ramps work, I will keep them. To each their own.
