GPS Software

I have a couple of questions on this subject
Currently I have Delorme Street Atlas That I run off of my laptop. It kinda sucks, you can save a waypoint but theres no way to find it without scrolling the map to that location, there should be a list of all of them or somthing like that. Does anyone know if the Street Atlas Plus has this feature?
I am also looking into getting a 3D Topographical map program Delorme also has some. Can anyone tell me the differences between the standard 3D Map software and the 3D Topoquads program? Basiclly the basic one is 100 bucks for the whole country and Topoquads is 100 bucks per state? Is there a lot more detail? Possibly more trails listed? For anyone who has these can you save waypoints and then find them from a list? What are some similar programs?
thanks
