I could fill the entire screen with my response. I'll go with the Readers Digest version. When he first came to Texas, along with a 250 million dollar price tag, I started to refer to him as Pay-Rod. Can't blame the guy for taking the money, wish someone would offer that to me. Should have kept him and cleared out the front office instead. First reaction was, "The Yankees! Great! Send him to a team that kicks your butt every time you play them. Don't you remeber what they did to you in the playoffs?" My mistake, no one remembers getting their butts kicked by the Yankees in the playoffs, too busy staying in the cellar (Maybe it's a tornado thing). Couldn't they have at least sent him to the National League? Anyway, wish him the best of luck. The Rangers will be keeping the division cellar extra clean this year with all the money they saved. I just hope when it's time for me to leave my job, the company gives me a 67 million dollar parting gift.

Here's the way I look at it, the Yankees have 26 World Series Titles, 3 in the last 6 years. I think it is time for them to be in the cellar. I think A-Rod going there might be good for him, but maybe not for the team. You already have 3 guys on the team that are "me" players (Sheffield, Lofton, and Ruben Sierra), not to mention there line-up now has 8 of the 9 positions filled with all-stars. In my opinion I think the clubhouse will be a mess with all these people trying to play together, and all of them trying to be in the spotlight at one time, I mean for god sake you have 2 of the 4 best shortstops in baseball on the same team, even though A-Rod will be a 3rd basemen. Okay I'm done ranting.

I am not a Yankees guy, but if my team had the cash I would want them to get A Rod back (Mariners).
Its easy to pile on and call the Yankees the dark side, evil empire whatever, but the fact remains that if any other team had the jack, they would do the same thing, and you would be happy if it was your team.
This is America, you work hard, take advantage of opportunities, make more money, buy out your competition. Its the American way.

I think that George did it make the Bosox look bad for not sealing the deal with A-Rod. I know Boone is hurt from a basketball game his contract says he should not be playing in. If the Yankees wanted a solid 3rd baseman, they should of went after Chavez from the A's, he's young, doesn't command a huge salary and best of all, he's a 3 time gold glover at 3rd and has a good bat. But I agree, it's the American way and that's why I love this country

first off I am pissed because the braves got rid of sheff.. and second how come they don't put the games best ss at his own position instead of worrying about hurting poor little over paid jeters pride? its obvious where a rod should be playing. jeter is gonna catch a load of crap for not handing over his position like a man, especially when he starts making errors

I think jeter can hold his own at ss, he's made some outstanding plays there and everywhere else on the field. Remember home plate against the A's when he threw out Giambi on the relay from right field? He can play a solid short. I think, Jeter will give up short for a time period, because A-Rod is 1 homer run away from breaking Cal's record. JMO

A-Rod is the better ss. Jeter is captain and "The Franchise" so he has to be made happy. A-Rod will be playing ss mid-way through this first season I predict. Jeter will do whats best for the team, even though I hate the Yankees I will be watching.
