Very easy to play Halo online with people across the country.
Go to www.xbconnect.com.
Then go to downloads and download xbc it absolutly free.XBC is compatable with MAC and Windows.
Things your need to play:
1.router,switch or hub preferably a router.
2.couple patch cables

Then you forward ports 8602 both UDP and TCP.
Well i'm not gona all into it here but once you are at the site there are pictured instructions.
I have been a Pro member of XBC for almost 2 years now and play Halo online every night.

 

hey I linked up with x box connect and I got the router and cables. The game play is ok most of the time but my ping seems to be from around 80 to 500 most of the time which seems to give me way to much lag and I get smoked alot(A LOT) because of the delayed reaction. So what is the port forwarding and will it help lower my ping. I have cable,and I shut all my programs off when playing(kazzaa).

I must say I was not expecting other players to be waaaaayyy better than me. Ive never played against humans before. I figured being able to make it through the game on legendary without hardly ever dieing should have been good enough to do ok . Wrong. verses games are totally different. The pace is crazy and I am my hands are pretty much trashed from being a mechanic for 15 years so I cant pull the trigger fast enough . We did win some ctf games by just out strategizing the better players but slayer is hopeless. Mostly its fun but the the x box connect needs better ways to search for games and match up players. It can get time consuming and frustrating with the glitching.
I wonder if there are controllers with auto head shot targeting and speed triggers because thats the only way I will be competative. Maybe a mind link would be handy.LOL

 

Gota find games that are from 0 to 80 ping anything over that is gona be lagy.No matter how low your ping is you are still gona have bullet lag.Takes some time getting used to. Aim for the head.3 shots to the head = death.One shot to the head with sniper riffel.
Close out all programs besides xbc disable your screen saver disconnect from global chat server before starting a game and running Adaware a program that gets ride of spyware also help lag issues.
