age limits suck!!!
im 15 on a lt250r, my dad "same dimensions of me" was thinkin about getting a z250.LOL im cramped enuf on my quadracer let alone that thing, i had to lower the foot pegs on my bike so i would cramp up on the long rides.and i may be 15 but i can out ride most older people around here other than a few fast guys on 250rs and bigger.

yup i agree with all of you, these age limits are rediculous, my brother is 14 and he is suppose to ride a 90, yeah right. He rides whatever we put him on, whether it be a 300 or a 700 and he handles them all just fine. the parents should be the one making these decisions, It just wouldnt be right to force him to ride a 90 when every weekend he is going out to the garage and getting on my dads Thundercat 1000(not sure it there are age restricitionss for sleds or not we never really cared)

I feel for you linky guys....If there is to be any "rules" at all...perhaps it should be like the whole child car seat and base it upon weight. I think that would give a more accurate feel for what a child can handle....I mean my son who is 5 weighs in a whopping 43 lbs.....there's no way he's going to drive my wolverine in the next 3-4 years it would just out right control him on the ride just from the thrust to weight issue. But that's my choice...not the friggin "laws" that are brought out of someone's rear end. If he were say 40lbs heavier to weigh him around 80 yea sure no problem cause he'd have the mass to handle it. That's my 2 cents worth.

On the subject of lowered footpegs-- that seems like a really bad idea. I was riding my friend's Banshee and bottomed out the suspension on sand and my toe happened to be pointing down. The toe of my boot dug into the sand and started getting pulled under the peg. It felt like my foot was folded clean in half, and I'm sure there would have been broken bones if I had not been wearing some pretty sturdy boots.
