Default Warn 2500 not pulling

I have a Warn 2500 on my machine and I just picked up a plow package, after installing the plow and hooking it up I tried to raise the blade but the winch would only lift it about an inch then it just quit raising. The winch sounds like it is running but it just won't pull the blade up. I then had a buddy of mine pull out some cable out and try to resist the winch and he was able to pull against it. Now my buddy is a pretty big guy but hes not 2500 pounder. Anybody have any clues on where to start fixing this problem? Thanks for your help.

Is the lock fully engaging on the switch, silly but, have seen this happen. I was the one who did it, thought the winch went out, turns out I just did not rotate the switch all the way.AKBoy.

Thanks AKB, I'll check it out. I went ahead and called Warn Customer Service and they told me it sounds like I have a dirty connection somewhere in the wiring? It sounds a little crazy but I'll try all suggestions.
