Default atv's in 2007

is it true that all atv's are going have to be four strokes in 2007.


if so I'm building a four stroke street bike quad.

If you look now, you will see that all atv's are 4-st for sale new. There is one exception and that is the GasGas. You will also, see that m/c will move over to only 4-st when the big 4 get the 250's 4-st motors running good. If you go to any races you will not see many 2-st showing up. There are more at mx races, but at xc races the numbers are very small. They will go the away into the background just like 3-wheelers have. the 2-st where very good in there day and are still very fast, but the 4-st is the wave of the future.

it wont be illegal to make 2 strokes but there will be emmison standars on quads which no current 2stroke production bike will meet so the manufactures are wussing out and putting all their R&D into 4 strokes. the snowmobile companies are and have made 2006 complyant two-strokes. They arent slower either in fact realy they are more efficent cause they dont have to burn as much oil

i think you are right. everything has to pass tests. it might be for the good or for the worse

i dont think that they will outlaw 2 strokes in 2007, they will just make them better because most dirt bikes are 2 stroke, beside the 250f and the 450s, and some people just like the feel of the 2 stroke.

Those are scary fast, I saw one blow right by a Banshee the other day!!
