Dell are "really cheap" and can only be upgraded and repaired by Dell. There is a reason they are the cheapest. just my opinion

Quote;

"It’s unwise to pay too much, but its worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money . . . that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was in capable of doing the thing it was bought to do.

The common law of Business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot . . it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that; you will have enough to pay for something better!"

Hey I was going to buy a Dell and them I went to Best Buy and found an Emachine 17"monitor 256MB ram, 80gig HD, CD Burner, Very nice machine and it was cheaper than the Dell... It was $375 after rebates... I would buy another Emachine after this one.. I am very happy with the performance and Price.

Try not to get something loaded with Windows XP. Too many compatability issues. Wish I had 2000 instead on mine.
