Fallujah was/is one of Saddam's last areas of resistance. What I mean is, it is one of the area's that most benefitted from Saddam being in power. What you see and hear is not representative of the entire country but localized area's.

What they are trying to do is to cause enough fatalities that we will cut and run, very much like Somalia under Clinton. They link we will not tolerate any deaths and will not finish the job. Their attack is on the American people to sway their opinion that we will put pressure on the Bush Administration to leave. Fortunately, Pres. Bush realizes this for what it is.

I heard that there have been more Iraqi policemen that have died trying to help us than actual US soldiers.

Lastly, it also shows us how much a life is valued to some of them (resistance) to take a charred burn up corpse and to have kids involved like it's no big deal. Kinda proves all they know is violence.

Ronald Regan said it best when he declared, " Peace through strength."

This is why they'll never put me in charge of the country. Today, there would be a huge crater where the incident took place. Somalia would still be radioactive for another 70 years. But hey, that's just me.

There was a movie some years ago called 'Red Dawn' where foreign invaders occupied America. The U.S. citizen guerillas who killed some of the foreign occupiers were the heros of the film.
So are saying it is okay, because we should not be there or we would do the same if the roles were reversed?

I was just going to comment on that ignorant quote as well. What an incredibly stupid comparison! But then what do you expect, the guy isn't even from America!

Good point! I had to read it a couple of times to understand the message he was trying to convey. I don't know him so i will not judge but a movie is one thing the real world is another. So what do ya do.
Not go fight over there and finally stomp out the Sadam regime or wait for something else to happen, do people actually think if we would have left him alone he would be all nice and peaceful. Maybe we don't need to be the world police just quit helping people no matter the lives lost for doing so. If we are so bad why are so many people breaking their necks to come live in this country. Maybe we can't change the world but we can make it better.

Bingo. It is rather amazing that so many in middle America cannot see that a people, any people including yourselves, are not and cannot reasonably be expected to be happy with having an invading force occupying their country.
While you are bombarded with propaganda telling you of all the wonderful things your forces are said to be doing in Iraq, for which you expect (and are intended to expect) that Iraqi's should be grateful, they see something different.
It has been nearly six months since the number of Iraqi citizens, not military but common people, killed as a result of the U.S. military activities in Iraq has surpassed the number killed in the World Trade Center (a tragedy that Iraq did not cause). Your military has killed and maimed thousands of people in a country that never asked to be invaded. This includes innocent families machine gunned to death by jittery check point guards. How could people be anything but outraged and angry about that?
Your news shows soldiers handing out blankets while Iraq people see their people being slaughtered by hostile occupying troops.

Despite what your tailored news outlets tell you, U.S. troops are not playing Santa Clause in Iraq. They are playing hostile invader. Think, please, for a minute. Do you think that the people cheering at the deaths of U.S. troops are doing that because they are evil? Are they cheering because they are just plain stupid?
They cheer because it represents to them a blow back for those many they have received. Sorry if that pops a balloon but it is so.

That said, it does not show much class for them to desecrate the bodies, nor do I think it was right or proper of them to do the act. But I can see why they would want to. They aren't being treated very well.
