Jumping question
#1
I have had my Ozark about 6 months now. Haven't broken any bones and no stitches.
Don't want any !
I have been playing with a spot where I ride that I can catch some air easily. I don't have a clue what I am doing so I have been going easy at this but would like to know how to do it.
The spot is just a short slope up at about 45 degrees, only climbs about 5 feet and the top edge of the slope is the edge of a bean field.
It is basically a spillway at the end of a pond dam. So I have plenty of room, ride across the dam, drop into the spillway and start up the slope, all in a straight line.
When I have caught air in the past, the nose is coming down first. It takes very little speed to get into the air so I figure this is good place to learn how. I would like to land on all fours or darn near it.
Advice would be appreciated.

It's not how fast you go off the jump, it's the consistency of your speed or otherwise your throttle modulation. Don't let off the throttle as you go off the jump, keep even throttle to a slight acceleration and your front will behave as you like. It's just lots of practice (fun!) to learn what your quad is doing. I'm a numbskull and not talented at all but I've jumped 58 feet of distance and I have never wrecked once jumping in 13 years, just started little and worked my way up.

Thanks for the input. This should help me. I think I probably am letting off the throttle just as I crest which is probably sending the nose down. You might recall I flipped this thing 2 or 3 weeks ago. That did not help my confidence but I realize now that throttle was probably key to that accident. I must have goosed it a little too much at the wrong time.
I played around on some ditches and small hills this past weekend partially in an attempt to figure out why it flipped. When it flipped, I had no room to get a run at the hill and all that throttle just made the front end become the backend.
There are some terraces out in open ground where I ride. Those would probably be a good place to practice too.
Thanks again for the input. I'll gladly keep working on it.
