Calgary is a decent team, they have to be to make it to the playoffs. That said, they dont have the playoff appearances and record that other teams like dallas, colorado, and detroit. The team itself does not suck, its just comparitive.

I personally have no hard feelings towards the team itself or the city, so I cannot say that I hate them.

 

hehe, I really hope Calgary goes far in the playoffs. In Canada our cities are not rich like in the states. Having two NHL teams in one province is very hard to handle ecnomically. There have been talks in the past to sell off Edmonton but now they are winning games so those talks are no longer there. Calgary is on the chopping block now, they rarely make the playoffs and I believe wasn't since 96 that they made it or was it past the first round since 96? Not sure which, either way its bad. I believe if they beat detroit and do well next year, if there is any hockey next year, they will be staying in Calgary.

Up in Canada hockey is hard to support, there are just to few of us to pay the huge salaries players expect. Players expect way to damn much money, its stupid.

Toronto doesn't have to win, they have Domi and he is enough intertainment.(lol) We just want them to go farther so we can watch him play the way the game is meant to be played. HARD! The Swede can go home as far as I am concerned, damn floater sucking the money bin dry. If I paid that kind of money for a player he would damn well be hitting and damn well would be man enough to take them too, not running and ducking like a chicken going to slaughter. He can go to the US for the big money and then we could pay two hard working farm boys from Canada and get twice the intertainment and effort.

There is no problem having 2 NHL teams in Alberta. The economy is very strong. Except for 95, Edmonton has sold out 15,000 seasons tickets every year and the club leaves the remaining 2800 seats for walk up sales. The support here always has been very strong and there will be no chance of the team leaving as long as there is NHL hockey. The same goes for Calgary. Hopefully the CBA will hammer out some salary caps as it IS fusterating seeing our good players going to the US for 6, 8, 12 million a year. If they would cap the salary at say 5 million a year ( who can't live on that?), then we would see players playing for the love of the game , not the hope of a better contract. ( Stupid Comrie!!)

 

Give us Calgary and you keep Edmonton. Winnipeg jets are long gone, all because our stupid low population.

You should be used to that considering you're a habs fan, who are OUT of the playoffs, via 4 straight losses from a team with nothing but pavement to play on. Maybe Mexico will have a team next year and then there will be more marks on your red cap.
