so far i really like gentoo, i have a apache2/php/mysql setup going that i serve a website on for our lan

 

Sweet.
The only time I ever ran Gentoo was on an old SPARC machine....
I may have to look into getting that for one of my machines.
I assume Gentoo has their ISO's on their website or ftp server?

I run Apache 1.3 still with php4...no mysql right now. I haven't gotten around to learning it in depth yet
But right now I am making a webserver in C....I have to resetup my website and add updates there.

not much, i know some java, mostly php, mysql, of course html and some asp from back when i played with iis on winxp.
i wanna leard some c or python, or something that i could make programs with.
i would also like to try the irrlicht 3d game engine, try to make a game sometime [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I've tried to make a game once....wow, painful.
I couldnt even imagine the hours that go into games that EA makes and puts on the market....
you'd have to have a very very good engine with lots of flexability
