You should be able to find a good S-10 for about $3500-$5000 in that year range. It depend on milage and condition. If you search real hard you might be able to find a good deal if you look hard enough. Good luck.

look around. a while back my brother picked up a GMC clone of the S-10. its a 1991 model that has some damage on the corner of the bed and the throw out bearing is about dead. anyhow its a good little offroader. for tires, i think he has 30's on rims that stick way out past the fenders, the cops dont like that. so far the mods.. well damage: spare tire holder broke, back fender bent in when he slid down hill into a tree, stock bumper removed and i built him a tucked bumper out of 4" square tube. not a bad truck, and that 4.3 V6 isnt that bad either. oh and on the way is a glass-pack muffler. best of all he got it for $700. really all it needs to look nice again is a new bed.

If you want to do it right, you will need a 6" lift to fit 33's without them rubbing. You can get 31's under there with a 3" body lift, but it looks kinda retarded. I have 30's on my 92 Blazer with a 1.5" shackle life and 3/4" t-bar lift. Trust me on this, you dont want to mess with T-bar lifts. In the end, you will wind up spending more money on replacing suspension and steering parts than you ever intended. Do it right and get a 6" suspension lift. It aint gonna be cheap though with it being IFS. Or, you can compromise. Get a 3" or 4" suspension lift and a 2" body lift. 5" lift SHOULD be clear 35's. You will need new wheels with a different offset and probably have to do some trimming on the fender wells. 2" body lifts dont look as bad as the 3" body lifts do. There is a really good forum for the s10's. s10extremist.org
