Does anyone have any stories about somekind of mis-haps or just plain things that have happened during your ATV experiences? If so please do share. Thanks!

Well since no one wants to participate in story time I'll just go! =-)

I can remember about 6 years back when my brother and I used to ride around on a pair of LT-160's and our neighbor had some hunkin peice O junk (SEVERLY neglected) Moto 4 that was who knows how old. Lets put it this way we helped him change the oil one time cause he couldnt even remember the last time he did. The oil came out like an ooze like substance! Anyways it was always about 5 mph faster than ours. So whenever we would get together with some other friends and ride we would always pick on him and stuff like that seeing the bike he rode (his parents on top of it). One time we were all chasing each other around and having fun. We all caught up to each other and while we were making the pit stop we turned our friends gas off, flipped his kill switch. We all hopped on our bikes and took off knowing that with his quad would catch up. He caught the kill switch but it bought us a couple seconds to get ahead. A little bit later down the trail we look back and see him coming (gaining on us) right when he was making his pass we heard the engine sputter and start coasting......We finally beat his quad in a race! Cheating? Yes! Cheap? Yes! Did we win YES!
For the record he is still driving the thing and since we got our Wolverine's he's been eating OUR dust ever since. (The Warrior humiliated him)

I had a couple of roll-overs but that's about it.

1st day I got my atv I rolled it upsidedown in a creek...LOL good thing I jumped off.

I also rolled it sideways in the same creek...I was going about 3rd gear and my right tire cought the lip and she went in...I had to jump into the creek becausde it was rolling that way...now I know to always jump off the quad the oppisite way it's rolling.

Another time I had my friend on the atv and he tipped it up on to it's back grab bar. He fell on me and I was on the bottom...LOL

And I had another friend that flipped his atv going around a corner. He hit me and flipped, his atv was busted and mine was fine.

this story was when I was in sixth grade.I am going to be sophmore now.I had a moto 4 80(aka badger)My freind had a 78 atc70 well we switched for a while and I was following him through a creek bed.He went up a pretty steep little hill I I followed. The atc flipped right on top of me and I landed on a big pad of rock in the creek it hurt bad.

Another time I had my moto 4 225 with cobra exhaust and wiseco piston, bore .040.The yfm ran pretty good.HE had a atc 185s in had a straight pipe and ran good also.We where racing down my road and he would always beat me.One time I we where about 10 foot apart going down the road I was in 4th gear put the throttle all the way in and cut him off I beat him though.

When I was about 14, my buddy had a new Honda 185s.
It was winter and we were taking turns pulling each other around on one of those plastic sleds on a frozen pond. Well he got to close to the edge of the pond and he put me into the trees. I took out a couple of small (<1") trees with my shin before I finally came to a stop.

I was bruised up pretty good, but thankfully no broken bones.

One time we were riding down a 3ft deep creek or river and these africanized killer mad turtles started swarming us and jumpig on our racks and hissing at us so I pulled out my stolen top secret sniper benford 2000 edidition m-16 rifle and started blowing these things away but when the other ninja turtles heard the shots they came over and started attacking us to so I put my highly modified (also top secret) 900cc timberwolf in high gear and punched it and since I was getting paid by highlifter to do there new secret 33inch mud tires testing those things hooked up and launched me man so next thing I know I'm like actualy on top the water (you know like Jesus!) and before I knew it I'm doing 95 miles per hour and turn a corner and there was Maxx6x6 putting along but my brakes wouldnt work so I give it a little more gas and jump his boat on wheels my rear tire actualy touched his head and flung his hat off.anywaY YOU GUYS PROBLY DONT BELIEVE ME ANYWAY so I'll go now I just got a call from NASA there saying something about me doin some exploring (top secret) on the moon with my other secret bike( also highly modified ) so take care you all.

...And this one time, at band camp.....anyway, last week on our weekly get-together, one guy had his exhaust literally fall off and my girlfriend fouled my plug on my "R" within 5 minutes of starting our ride. My nephew did a 50mph high-side on his "R" and left a perfect imprint of his DG front bumper in the extreme hardpack dirt as if it had been dropped from 30+ft. in the air. He was sore and the "R" suffered a badly bent axle but that was quickly fixed. I will be racing the GNC national at Loretta Lynn's this weekend will probably do some kind of die-do there, will report back next week.....

Where to start.

I'm 25 now. Back in the third grade I had a Honda 90 and flipped it over on top of me in a creek bed... 15 min's later I woke up and staggered to a friend's house a quarter mile away for her mom to call my parent's. 5 hr's and 75 stitches later I was back home.

Some years later, when I was 13, I hung my fourtraxx 250g in some coal mine sludge... It took a day of digging to get it to where some friends could hook there quads on to mine to pull it out, but it didn't work. You would think 3 Warrior's, a 250r and a fourtraxx 250 would be able to pull anything they want, but they couldn't get me out. By the time my father got there to pull me out, all that was visable was the handle bar's and the racks. Haven't been that bad since.

As has been mentioned in posts of the past these sort of stories are funny and sometimes painful but there are those that would choose to stop our beloved sport and are more than happy to use these stories against us. I and my friends now recall many of these same stories while enjoying a few barley pops the same way we enjoyed them with a few cans of grape Nehi. The difference is that when these stories are posted without the benefit of "man I was a really dumb kid then and I know much better now" or "I make sure I tell everyone not to do something dumb like that" at the end of the story people on the outside seeking to do harm to the sport can say "look at how many children are being put in harms way by these killer machines". All ATVers like all fishermen, hunters, skaters, and people of all other sports have stories but don't tell them to the lawyer that's trying to take the sport away.

ok, back in 1985 or 6? a south dakota winter night. i am in town on my 200x racing around behind what was a drug and alcohol abuse treatment center. i could see the people inside looking at me ( most of them were there by court order). i was feeling cocky, so i started doing rosies, etc. behind this place was a large open field bordered by a city park, grade school and small lake. so as, i'm riding around like a jerk, i notice the town cop has been watching me the whole time. i see him, he knows it and I AM GONE!!!! i whip around, go down through the ditch and am airborne into the open field. if i can make it to the 1/2 mile to the lake, i can cross and be out of town and uncaught. the snow was about 6 inches deep across the field and i was haulin'. i looked back over my shoulder to assess my situation when i notice the cop car with all 4 wheels off the ground coming out of the same ditch! i looked again and he was catching up to me really fast. when i decided to give it up, he almost slid into me when we stopped. i had a face mask on and he told me to remove it and that i was under arrest. i was about 14 or 15, so he brought me home to get my driver's license (we used to get them at 14), i had to tell my mother and then he brought me back to the 3wheeler and made me push it home in the snow. that sucked worse than any ticket. nothing more came of it.
so now, i ride a street legal quad, we own a house where the empty field was and the lake is still the edge of town.
