Democracy in Iraq? C'mon, the second we leave the Shia radicals take over. Then, you have another Iran.........Incredibly big mistake.
And yes, Iraq had Saddam because thats what their culture demanded. They'll cut your throat for insulting them. They have a code of omerta that make Mafia men look like angels. Americans understand very little about this enemy.
Inevitably, we will leave Iraq in an ugly withdrawl. You can pay now or pay later.

Why such a negative nancy view on the whole deal. Yes some of them are radical anti western civilization and thats what you see on tv. if they are all that way they should prolly just all die. I have family over in albania another messed up section of the world. men women and children walk the streets carrying AK47's lil old grammas pak AK47s thats pretty F'd up society. why would anyone want to live in Caos?

Yes, Iraq is working like a magnet. It is atracting the lowlife of that part of the world. We can kill them over there much easier than over here. I wish we could get out, but we have some trash to remove first.

The liberal media will only show us the radicals. They don't want us to see the good things that are happening there. Yes, war will get worse before it gets better. I quess some of these people think that we should have laid down when Pearl Harbor was bombed, too.

Democracy in Iraq?
no one could have thought it could happen, but you see the result now whether you agree with europe's views 100% or not. liberating europe was one of the best things the US got involved in- in the past. but at the time it seemed like a dumb idea. it may not look like it now, considering you are fed a constant supply of negativity from our great press system here concerning iraq, but one day you will see...
just remember, dont blame your president for this. 500+ members of your congress, including good ole john kerry/edwards voted FOR this war. Which by the way, ONLY congress can declare war.
Kerry/Edwards voted to authorize it, now they are against it? what is that? they knew this wasnt a 'drop a few bombs thing and then leave.' we are in and need to finish the job, otherwise we look like bigger a-holes in the world that dont mean what we say and send a message to those that oppose us that we are weak and will give up when faced with a litttle heat. that would be even worse.

BTW, I'm not liberal. I am, however agianst, chickenhawks wasting American lives in the wrong war. Any of you poeple have sons or nephews? Do you want to see them drafted and sent to a lousy unwinnable war by a guy who avoided Viet Nam?

You need to stop using catch phrases from Ralph Nader. Heck, he can't even get his name on the ballots in half the states.
"Do you want to see them drafted and sent to a lousy unwinnable war by a guy who avoided Viet Nam?"
Yah, like going there for a few months and then coming back and turning on your fellow soldiers is some how noble.
"But this Iraq situation is a huge miscalculation, any thinking man can see that..........."
Did any "Thinking man" honestly believe that this was going to be easy? Or that it would happen over night? It isn't an easy task, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
The death toll of Americans is over 1000 now, and all of the liberals are coming out of the woodwork, like 1000 is some magic number. I say even 1 American death is a tragedy. But unfortunately it is a product of war and inevitable. The men and women serving in our military and dieing for us are being done an injustice by the liberals that are making their deaths a tool for political gain. They should be ashamed, I know I am of them.

He served one tour on the USS Gridley. The second tour was the Swift boat tour, which was cut short by the three Purple Hearts.

Perspectives:
In Germany after WW2 there were pockets of **** sympathizers who were taking out our troops for years. We stayed the course there didn't we.
In the battle of Gettysburg 63,000 people died in one day. Our loss of 1,000 in one year while tragic is astonishingly low. That 1,000 figure includes all deaths from training accidents to the battlefield.
The hand is dealt: Islamo-fascism is being exported world wide. They will not go away, and they have been hitting us for a decade. Heck, even going back to the Iranian hostage deal if you will.
We can sit like pacifists and hope they only kill some of us, or we can hunt them and kill them. Those are the options.
Peace is messy and war is more messy, it's merely reality.
