Default new sled

Hey guys I know it's a little early to be talking snow but I just bought a 97 Polaris Ultra SPX SE. It's a 680 triple with triple tuned pipes. Does anyone know pros/cons on this sled. I have heard good things about it and not much bad. Any information would be great.

The Ultra was known to eat heads, I know of a half dozen that have head work and sold afterwords. The Polaris triples are gas guzzlers, I have a 87 Classic 600 triple and I have 12 gallon tank to go with it.

There is a custom torque plate that you can get for it if it starts to bust head bolts and warps, I got mine from the DragBike shop here in town, I also suffered from the same problem of head eating.

Other then that little thing they are great machines and it is easy to find extra's or even stock items just about everywhere's for it. Afterall it is just a Indy model that they stuffed differnt motors into and named it differently.

I too am waiting to get to ride, but not too soon. Gotta enjoy the summers we get and this one has been great over 70 most of it and quite a few 80's this year, gotta love that Global Warming the have been preaching about.

I heard that about triples also but I also heard thay the 97-99 years were figured out compared to the eariler models. I also am on a snowmobile forum and they said that didn't include these years because they used reeds or something. My family also owns three (1 for myself and my brother who ones 2) 94 XLT's we never have had a problem. We have owned them for over 4 years and not a single thing has went wrong.
