Lets all do something for humanity.....and ATV Connection too! I've started a F@H team for ATV Connection and we need some folders! This is a great opportunity for us all to do something great and give ATV Connection & ATV'ers a little good PR.

What does Folding@Home do? Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously achieved. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease.

How can I help? You can help our project by downloading and running our client software. Our algorithms are designed such that for every computer that joins the project, we get a commensurate increase in simulation speed.

By becoming part of the ATV Connection's Folding@Home Team and donating the spare cycles of your CPU, you become part of a worldwide effort to help scientists understand and cure some of the worst diseases today... and let's not forget that the ranking system implemented by Folding@Home helps us to compete with other folding teams. This will help the folding community by giving us tangible goals to achieve which will, in turn, raise participation. Help ATV Connection be one of the top teams on the Internet!

I can vouch for this service. Such services has help dramaticly in DNA research. Without distributed computing DNA strands would not be identified yet. I studied this topic while completing my Masters in Computer Science and Folding@home was one of the services we looked at. I would participate but my employer has so many firewalls and crap I am lucky to be able to view these forums.

 

Well thanks for considering it BigBlack! I've already got 3 WU's done for Team ATV Connection.....woot!!!

I've been folding for another team, for a couple of years, but once I change my team number to 39212 we'll start racking up some WU's.
