Thank you for posting that chernobyl has always intrigued and made me wonder what kinda idiots ran it.I guess no 1 knows the real truth, she said the firefighters died from the gamma rays on contact.I dont remmeber the news or the school teaching or telling it like that to us.Its funny how the goverments will try to cover stuff up to prevent riots or panic and will snafu it up even more.I read a news article last week that said the goverment was gona try to rein habit the area. That really was a eye opener for me.

That site has some interesting pictures.

However, it's somewhat of a fake. The lady who made that site never rode her motorcycle through the area. It turns out, her husband took a lot of those pictures with her holding her helmet and wearing that riding jacket. She was on a tour of the area that's readily available for tourists to take. Also, some of the pictures are from a book that was written about the area.

I can dig up a link if anyone wants to read about it.....

Glenn,

I hadn't realized they were conducting tours of the area. However, she did mention that some of the pictures were from unknown authors. As far as the pictures of her holding her helmet, I don't doubt that she was there on a ride or her credentials to get through some check points. It was obvious that someone was with her to take some of the pics. Please provide the link that you have.

Thanks

The site had more motorcycle related descriptions when it first came out.

Here's the link. It's a bit of reading, but interesting nontheless.

Not so real tour

I saw an episode on History channel or National Geographic Channel about the melt down. It was interesting. I didn't know the town was still a ghost town. Thats freaky. Amazing to see all those pics. Weird seeing all of their belongings right where they left them. I would be devastated if that happened here. I love that internet site about Chernobyl. She did a great job. She is keeping the history alive.
