300ex and warrior quesions?

I am 16 about 5'8"1/2 or so and around 135lbs.I was wondering if someone could compare the quads for me?!Like suspension,handling,holding wheelies,power{i know the warrior has the cc advantage but i heard the 300ex had great power too}speed,and offroad {ruff terain,hills,and in mud}.and what about the number of mods available etc. THANKS!

I think you should get a 1987 and up Suzuki Lt250r.There great, they have lots of power,great suspension,great brakes and great speed. What else could you ask for?





1991 Lt250r :
Ceet seat cover,DG alloy front bumper,DG alloy rear grabar,DG alloy nerf bars ,Emgo bars,Pro design kill switch,Maier plastic(Looks awsome I put lots of cool stickers on it),Uni air filter,Shockwears,Parking brake block off,RTC clutch lever,Motion pro twist throttle(took a while to get used to!),Leager A arms ,Ohlins front shocks(got them with the quad the look kinda old),Homemade motor skid(from speed limit sign),Turf tammers on back,IPT hole shot up front,And probly other stuff to but I cant think of all of them rite now. well, I am going to address myself to the two quads you asked about.. the 300EX & the Warrior.
Suspension: both front suspensions are adequate for moderately agressive riding styles, however I feel that the Warrior has the edge in rear shocks due to the rebound damping adjustment. Both bikes benefit greatly from upgrades.
Brakes: I would think it is a draw.
Speed: Means little without qualification as to the venue; flat open full throttle or very tight technical trails? The former would favor the Warrior with it's longer wheel base & sixth gear.
The latter, the 300EX with it's lighter weight & shorter wheel base.
Wheelies: The 300EX without a doubt, for the reasons above plus the weight distribution of the bike.
Accessories/modifications: tons available for both.
Bottom line if either bike is a choice, you would likely be happy either way.
I ride a Warrior & I preferred it due to the size..it just fits me better at 160 lbs & 5'10", plus the 6th gear in which I run a lot here in XC Az riding. In spite of the slightly longer w.b. it does well in the tight tech stuff also.

Warrior is definetly better. The 300ex is not that bad but, the Warrior is so much better. My little brother has one and we're taking it back. It has a really wide turning radius and it has a rev-limiter that kicks in while in reverse. My brother is getting either a Warrior or Mojave. I may not like it just because of what the dealership did to it (Bent frame,grab bar, and brake disks) but, get a Warrior

how good do these machines jump and land,and how about turning the warrior i know has a little push steer?

I can't speak from personal experience about the Honda's ability in jumping but from every thing I've read or heard it has very respectable jumping characteristics. The Warrior is also an adequate jumper, each machine within the limits of their stock suspensions. As to the understeer you mention, you must have ridden a machine with stock Dunlop slip n' slides which certainly do not lend themselves to holding a line in turns or corners. An understeer problem, if it exists, often can be corrected with an upgrade to the tires and/or suspension. If your style will be jumping and hard riding/cornering, either of these bikes, and in fact any bike with stock suspension will need to be upgraded in order to enhance their capabilities. I had a problem with understeer on my Warrior at first with the OEM skins, but after I went to Bandit XC's & TCS shocks the problem went away. I fact, if anything,I have to be careful of OVERSTEER in some situations.
One other thought regarding cornering, or any other handling problem for that matter; many of them can be due to improper tire inflation. I think the average casual rider just jumps on his scoot with no thought of what are between him & the ground.
I never start the engine before checking air pressure, usually low, due to the nature of atv tires. I run six lbs all around which works for me where I ride.
Well, this is turning into a lecture, so that's it.

I agree with Hot_Shoe 100%. Both are good bikes with slightly different pros & cons. Depends on where you will be riding & what you want from the bike. Might boil down to the better dealer.
