Railroad Police?
#1
Hello Again,
My question is a probe into the subject I have seen here and there discussed about the railroad/indain police. I would never tresspass or anything but the subject has caught my curiosity. I have "heard" if they catch you the go the route of having guns drawn and ready to do vile things to you that cannot be discussed here. My question is has anyone had experences with them? Do they have greater authority than police or state troopers? any stories reguarding this goup of "dirty harry's" out there I am interested to hear if you have just to satisfy my curiousity...thx in advance

Only place that I think you would encounter weapons drawn would be in you encountered a border patrol in the area of a railroad line. The average cop in middle america isnt going to draw his gun, if he catchs you on railroad tracks, unless you give him a reason to. Ie.. dont rush him, dont be verbally abusive, dont pull a weapon yourself ! ,,, you know common sense type things. Having said that I'm sure there are a few loose cannons out there in the railroad police,,,, just like anywhere else but if you lie awake at night worrying about something like that youre nuts.

When I was younger....say about 25 years ago....I used to hitchhike alot and a couple of times I jumped a train to get where I was going (those were the days). Anyhow, in Evanstan, Wyoming some railroad cops caught me in a boxcar. One of them had a gun drawn but it was pointed down, not at me. The other one had a bad attitude and was really an a$$hole. The one puts the gun away and handcuffs me, then after I was in handcuffs the one with the bad attitude decides to knock me around a bit...real macho right? Anyway when the cops get there, I told them what happened and they went over and talked to these two shmucks and they were all laughing and shmoozing up to each other. Then the cops put me in the squad and took me to the edge of town and told me not to come back.....I didn't.

I do appreciate the responses many moons ago when I was forum surfing I had run across a group of 3 wheeler fellas that had bad run in's with them and they advised that these officers dont play I do see the danger of being too close to the train tracks. I am not bashing no one just a curious mind looking for if there was any truth in the authority of railroad police that have been rumored to be watching out for any tresspassers that dare tread on their sacred ground...thanks again fellas for your input.
