A change in edict? 28.8 time has been stifled by 6 fold!

Is this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
You know it's not the banner ad itself,(Even thow it's over sized in my view) But if I have to wait 15 seconds looking at a banner waiting for a thread to show up,,Thats it,, Back button.

The reality is that advertising is the life blood of any publication, including ATV Magazine, with very few exceptions. Without that revenue, I think we all would be looking for another source of info on ATVS

These forums do about 3/4 of a million page views (pages read) each month and it's on the rise... We just surpassed 13,000 registered users of the forums... We'll likely have to buy another server soon just to keep up with the demand on the forums. So....

Yea,,,,,, After standing back and looking around at all the other BB's out there, CF is still by far the best.

Please forgive my bitching, It's just that I'm stuck in 56k,,,,,no make that 21.6k hell because the phone lines on the poles are from the 50's and my conection drops out when it rains. Real speed access is still unatainable from anyone.Average dial ups go 7-14 times before they link even then they can error.

Can't wait till I can wing this 56k modem across the yard like a frisbee.
I can do so much more!!

As a veteran of the forums and a user who has pushed this software to it's every allowable limit. I feel compelled to answer this question.

Imagine this- a thousand ten year olds coming in here and posting dancing Barney cartoons in their signature. How long would you stick around this site? Therefore in the best interest in content that we all want to see. Animation is frowned upon.

Last year the forums had a nasty outbreak of *"smiles"(It wasen't me "honest") and it took a prescription and two weeks to cure that rash.

Well, for all of you who live in the country and have poor phone lines (26.4 Max here) and no cable availability an answer is in sight. Check out www.gilat2home.com

This is a high speed 2-way satellite internet service. Unlike DirectPC it receives AND transmits to a satellite at very high speeds. It works very well with the only drawback being the slight lag time vs landlines. It's not good for on-line gaming with first person shooter type games. This should roll out before the end of the year. It is in beta now and is working very well.
