thanks sgt....i might ditch work here in a few and test your theory...btw...where does your idle screw set... im curious because of a lot of other carbs ive dealt with have had a range(high and low)...i know on some after time that range will diminish(not mine of course...id fix mine)...i dont have a lot of experience with the raptor but im steadily gaining...thanks for your help

 

This is how I done it. I went up to the throttle cover on the handle bars and took that off. I adjusted my idle from there to what setting I wanted. I only use the throttle adjustment for cruise control. You know rolling down a road or trail and feel like standing up.
