2-stroke snowmobiles will be around for a long time still. We are seeing more and more 4-strokers however they still have a ways to go before they cause the 2-strokers to be gone.

It is very stupid that the 2stroke has to go, because in reality it doesnt. yes many of the 2 stroke emissions are unsafe and more harmful but there are ways around them. an example is the skidoo rev. Im not exactly sure which model or year or whatever but i do know that skidoo makes a rev and it actually burns cleaner than some four strokes if not all fourstrokes. With all of the technology we have today there should be a way to make the 2stroke burn cleaner. the 2stroke shouldnt be banned. and if we really wanted to do something we could. if everyone put their voices and opinions in it could make a difference. personally i will ride 2stroke until the day i die.i own an lt250r and i love it. some people call them extinct and old and useless but they really dont know what they are talking about. 2 stroke performance opportunities are endless, from pipes to porting to head mods. you can always change them and make them faster if you have the time and the money. they are amazing machines. the fourstroke industry wont be getting my business thats for sure. my lt may be 18 years old, but its still strong and kickin. and just because they are old dont mean theyre garbage, not many 18 year old wheelers can beat new 450 and 500 fourstrokes. i personally HATE valves. i hate working on engines with valves and i hate riding engines with valves. but thats my personal opinion and whoever had the idea to do away with 2strokes

A 2-stroke will NEVER be as clean as a 4-stroke will be. As it HAS to burn the oil.

But catterman its still very possible to have a 4 stroke dirtier than a 2, the reason why you see all the four strokes is because its easier to make and keep a 4 stroke clean, not because a 2 stroke cant be.

There may be hope for the 2-stroke yet. Seems California was hot to get the 2-stroke off the market then found out that the 4-strokes are so loud they are more worried about the noise pollution. They may back off on the 2-strokes, that's what I heard from the Kawasaki update instructor this year.
