I admit I shouldn't be crabby; no one made me respond to the post; I volunteered and have no right to expect my advice to be followed or even read.

By the way, I agree with you, 87_250R; at least TRY to straighten them out--what's the worst case scenario? The repair is unsatisfactory and a new rack must be purchased--the rack is unsatisfactory NOW.

Greetings,

And we shouldn't move on from this topic without offering a little safety oriented advice: you really shouldn't use your racks for towing. Attaching a tow line to the rack puts the force up relatively high on the machine. This greatly increases the likelihood of doing a backflip when should the load move notably slower than the quad. If you attach the line at the axel (like on a hitch) the wheels may spin but its unlikly you will do a back flip.

Also, racks aren't made for the concentrated force put on them by a tow line -- so we shouldn't blame the rack for not being a hitch. In the words of Mr. Natural -- use the right tool for the job.

Greetings,

Oh yeah, I guess you're right.

Anyway, never hurts to reinforce a good piece of advice.
