Let me point out a picture from Mike Chero's page, if he doesn't mind.

If a Polaris Diesel and Honda 300ex can ride together, why can't we ALL get long? :-)

Sure this was a funny thing, but it can serious. Have you ever looked in a ride report article of ATV Sport? let me list a few of the ATV's riding in a line on a trail:
Honda 300 4x4
Suzuki LT80
Polaris Trail Boss
Yamaha Banshee
ATC 350X
That's right, all of those ridng together. I think so many people are caught up in being the fastest, or even trashing the slowest/least reliable, they forget it's all about just going out and having fun, at least for the recreational riders anyway.

Man, I can remember the days of four wheeling camps in the 80s. I used to go with my dad and a big bunch of his friends that had a couple kids my age (13-15 at the time). It was a pretty Honda dominated bunch. 1 84 trx 200, 1 85 suzuki 230 quadrunner, 1 86 Kawasaki 300, an 85 big red three wheeler, My 85 yamaha 200 and 86 yamaha 225, and then about 12 honda 250 fourtrax bikes ranging from 85 to 87 models. They all were totally convinced that the hondas were the stuff too, although I could slightly pull away from the 250s on the Yamaha. We had a good time though and never thought of having 4wd on anything. I wouldn't give up my 4wd now for the world. When the first Foreman came out, all these guys said, "I wouldn't take a 4wd anywhere I wouldn't take this 250. If it cant go there, i dont want to be there." Boy, those same guys all have 4wd Honda 300s now. I doubt they remember making all those comments back then. We mostly do deep woods riding with lots of hills, rocks, creekbeds and washouts. The old farts never cared for the 250r's that came along every now and then, although the kids would make the guys with the sport bikes do wheelies and jumps until they were sick of it.

Adam, the only reason that Polaris Diesel is next to that reliable Honda is because we all know about how long diesels can go with out repairs. Now if was a regular gas engine, it would be a whole nother story

Well said Mike! I think we all tend to get caught up more in who has what sometimes and forget what is important - getting out and enjoying ourselves! Does it really matter if someone else buys something other than what I have? If that's what they wanted so be it. As I've said before in here, all the manufacturers must make a pretty good product or they wouldn't still be in business! And, as I've also said, a person's opinion of an ATV will depend on the experience they've had with it - if it was a lemon (which ALL manufacturers have!) then that company makes nothing but trash, if it was good then that brand is the greatest thing ever made! Let's all just enjoy the fact that we have an ATV and not worry about the brand!

I agree with the "doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride" theory. I'm stuck way out here in the middle of the pacific ocean, on a small (35 mi X 8 mi) rock called Guam, and I'm happy if I can find two or three bikes to ride with. I don't care what they are. Polaris (haven't seen one here yet, but I'm waiting) Honda, Yamaha, etc. I mostly go fourwheeling with a bunch of trucks, so it's nice to have another bike along so we can actually get out of 2nd gear. Dang trucks take their time.

I ride with who ever wants to ride. A couple of days ago I was riding with a Bayou and an Artic Cat, the next time I go riding I'll be riding with a Banshee or 250R. I love to ride with lots of people, wether its a old slow 4x4, or a lighting fast LT500.
