Doing away with 2 strokes?
#3
Well,I just mean like as far as racing.I know 2 strokes are faster in the take off,and someone was telling me that smaller two strokes are racing alot of bigger 4 strokes now.Just seems weird

Wouldn't surprise me if they were outlawed for new production bikes. Also wouldn't keep me from riding older 2-strokes, because they rule (obvious when consider 250 2-strokes are VERY competitive against 450+ 4-strokes).

As enFORCER noted, 2-strokes are not banned per se. However, small engine emissions have been tightened which will bring about the demise of the scavaging 2-stroke that's used today.
If you see 2-strokes in new quads after 2006, they won't be the same. They'll be a very technologically advanced motor with computer controlled fuel injection.
If you search around the forum, especially with my name in the author field, you'll see that this has been discussed for the last 2 years.
