I'm not sure how much of this is actually true or going to happen, but its something to think about. I'm taking things with a grain of salt right now.

I say we all just quit driving for a week and put an end to this BS. Opec still only has maybe 4 bucks in a barrel and they are getting 70 plus bucks for it come on! I know it will be impossible to get everyone to participate but if everything shut down from people not driving maybe it would have an effect(possibly bad).

This almost gives me a good enough excuse to go buy a civic or accord 2dr or some such sporty little econo car. But, by the time you pay license and insurance etc I'd never make it pay in fuel savings since I drive just a few miles to work, but nonetheless filling the truck up for over $70 makes you wanna do something different.

MWQ is right. People just need to slow the hell down.
I had to make a 78 mile trip up north (one way) on CA 99. The rigs we're all pushing 65-70. I was supprised. Most of the time they run low 60s to keep the CHP off their back. They only slowed down just north of CA-152 as they approach the scales. I was trying to keep it at 65, or a little less if I could. Felt like I was going to get run over!
I'm one of the few lucky people in that my work pays for gas. The field guys have been ordered to car pool (well, truck pool would be correct) to save on fuel. We were running 5 trucks to the jobsite I went to. They cut it down to 3 trucks.
