I really do not care which political party you belong to but this we must agree on.
For over 30 years now the Democratic party has been in bed with the enviromentalist
groups, and have stopped any plans of building new refineries, to handle the crude we
buy from overseas. They have stopped all plans of drilling for oil off our coast, and
Alaska. The people of Alaska wanted the drilling in the Anwar area which is all tundra,
not the pristine scenery posed by the enviros. We have to get onboard and get both
started, new refineries, and drilling, or else we will be buying our refined fuel for the
towel heads for 8 bucks a gallon, in the not to distance future. It sounds good to think
of alternative fuels, but if gasoline was removed from the market buy only a fraction,
think of how many jobs would be impacted. This world runs on gasoline now and will
for another 50 years before there is a viable alternative. Any quick solution to our
petroleum situation with an alternative fuel may in fact work in one respect, but will
hinder us by putting millions of our population out of work. Think on it.
