Default cell phone ringtones

I know this is an atv forum, but someone here has to know how to get free ringtones in the cellphone.
Its a lg phone on verizon.

I heard you can email it to the phone, but what is the format? Is it a midi file....aiff?

Any good websites you can send me to, that describes what i want to do.

If ya gotta ask.....teenage daughters.

The cheapest way to get ringtones is to buy a cable to hook your phone to your computer and upload your own. I'm not sure what model your phone is so I can't really say what exactly to get, but the cables are usually pretty cheap(usually between $3-$15, check Ebay). Also, if your phone is BT capable you can upload that way. You CAN email ringtones, as long as they are the right format for your specific phone(not knowing the model, I can't say for sure which format), but, depending on the size of the file, you're still going to be paying out the **** for the mb transfer fees with your carrier.

With a cable to hook your phone up(or BT), you can make your own ringtones(my daughter prefers this as it gives her unique ringtones). You can also save just about any sound or song from any website and use those also. We put new ones on her phone almost weekly.Just make sure the cable you buy comes with the software needed, or download it from LG.

Personally, I prefer BT, but since my daughters phone isn't capable, she uses the cable. I have some pretty interesting tones that I would definitely not have been able to get at ANY download site, I'd list them, but most are dirty and would get moderated out.

You might want to check out hofo, great cell phone forum. http://www.howardforums.com/
