Hey man, that is some messed up stuff. Personally, I look forward to every single issue of Dirt Wheels(all atv mags). I don't think it's fair to complain. I mean, what if Dirt Wheels was discontinued? Sure, they do too much on the 400EX and might say little stupid stuff, but I like their articles and everything else in each issue.

I think ATVsport magazine is definately the best out there, but they only come out once every 2 months. I'm just glad we have 4 new ATV mags to read. When you can't ride, magazines and videos help a lot.

I can complain because I am the one who is keeping their magazine making money. I am buying each issue, I am reading the adds, I am buying from the adds. I complain so that they will hopefully change.

I know a lot of people like the 400ex. That's why it's featured so much. If the majority of the readers didn't like it, it wouldn't be featured. I don't mind that, I just don't like how the 400ex articles repalced the articles I used to like.

I also understand that they write articles months before, but when the talk about rumors of a machine they are advertising, it's kind of funny.

Overall I like most of the Dirt Wheels articles, or else I wouldn't buy them. I just want somthing new to be published. AT LEAST THEY COULD TEST ANOTHER PIPE, not another stock 400ex.

I agree with RidE. What would we do without
DW? Its still the best monthly rag even if
they do run somethings in the ground. Also
what about the guys that are picking up their
first iss.? The 400 was the first break through in high performance in years. It is
bound to get alot of coverage.

I know that this doesn't apply directly to D.W. But since they are from the same publisher 4WA is also guilty of all these things. Why in god's green earth would they do another test of a quad (Yamaha Warrior) that hasn't changed in over 14 years, when the could test the new Scrambler 2x4? I really am starting to believe that these guys don't even ride the quads any more, they just keep re editing the same old articles that they did last year. I mean come on guys! Do you really think that the Bear Tracker is going to improve in six months from the last test they did?

Oh yeah, they had better do a test on the new 2000 400EX! Those graphics and price change could mean more performance (LOL).

I really loved the teaser about the Bombardier DS 650. Two or three paragraphs telling us how the machine will be tested next month. Why even bother testing it, it WILL be inferior to anything Honda makes. So the machine has a ton of horsepower, a foot of suspension at either end, who cares? The Honda will undoubtably handle better, have a lower center of gravity and be more reliable and therefore be better all around than the DS 650. Is there any one out there who will bet me $5 that that is what will be said at the end of the article?

I just loved (again) the article about how Suzuki came out with a new 400 dirt bike motor that they hope will go into a quad! DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH waiting for that to happen! Suzuki is quite content to make quads that only farmer Brown can appreciate.

My subscription notice has just come in the mail, I doubt that it will be renewed!

Mike are you saying Bombardier should never had made the DS 650? Maybe we should all keep riding the same quads year after year, and tell the other manufactures to not even bother to help our sport out.

Bombardier has a reputation of making very reliable products, just take a look at their sea doo's and snowmachines.

Samson,

No, I'm not saying that. I'm sure that the magazines (DW/4WA) will though. I'm sure that the DS 650 will be a stellar example of a sport quad. However, the above mentioned magazines will probably feel that the 400EX is the greatest sport quad ever made. As far as they are concerned the 400EX or any quad that Honda makes is always the best. Period!

I can't explain as to why the Sportsman 500 beat the pants off of their (the magazines) precious 450es. Especially when the 450ES had the all important lower center of gravity (no kidding, it also has less suspension). Or that the rugged Honda motor was out powered by a quad with a 100+ pound weight disadvantage. Most especially, Honda's vaunted reliability (funny how they mentioned the 450ES's shifting problems and then lightly dismissed them) over the outrageously unreliable Polaris (shhhh! Don't tell my trouble free Polaris quads they are unreliable! They might take a hint).

Don't get me wrong, I am a Polaris fan, but these two poor excuses for magazines only do nothing but bash them. Hey if you don't believe me, pick up a copy and watch the bashing begin.

WHAT? A 400EX on the cover? That would make it the November issue, one of which I do not have? Stores must get it WAY later, because it hasn't hit HY-VEE yet!

Did anyone else notice that 4 wheel action jacked the cover price up to $4.95 a couple of months ago. I think Dirt Wheels and ATV Sport are still the same at $3.95 so I will probably just get those from now on.

I just renewed both subscriptions to Dirtwheels and 4wheel/atv action for only 13.98 each (Christmas special) You can't beat that, even with a few articles I could care less about. I have been getting them since the late 80's and will probably continue for many years to come. I can't wait for y2k and the new atv show on the outdoor channel, I'd like to be the host on that show!
