Snowy roads
#1
Well I woke up this morning, got a phone call from my dad...He told me to brush off the grandam because my cousin was going to borrow it...I didnt think anything of it untill he told me why she was going to borrow it. Yesterday on the way back from work, she was driving down i35 and hit some ice in her jeep gran cherokee...She rolled it three times and it is totaled.
THe whole point to this thread is to just reming everyone tht just because you have 4 wheel drive, it doesnt mean you are invisibile to things like ice...the only the the 4x4 will do is help you get going and possibly steer a bit better...that is it...so watch the roads...my cousin was lucky, only some glass cuts and her being stiff is all that is wrong with her...and rememebr them seat belts too...they do save lives

you are right 4x4 doesn't allow you to stop faster but it does give you a much better handle on the road therefore people have a tendency of driving faster. i know my truck handles like a dream on the ice and snow but still gotta take it easy but anyone that lives in the cold northern states well most of us know how to drive in the winter time. it does seem like the first couple times the roads are icy everyone slips and slides a lil bit until we get the feel for it again. glad to hear she is ok

good to hear she's alright and it might have been worse if she didnt wear a seat-belt. correction- it deffinatelly would have been worse if she didnt wear her seatbelt. We got our first snow last night here in nj, and the roads were really slippery and unplowed kuz there wasnt enough of it to plow. those are the most dangerous conditions kuz people think its still ok to drive fast just kuz the snow plow trucks didnt have to come out.
