HELP !!! GPS System
#1
I have the chance to purchase a GPS sytem.
Eagle Expedition /
The person that is selling it say it is worth $265.00 and is selling it for $150.00
I have been wanting to get one but have been waiting for a good deal. This sounds like a good deal, but I am not sure.
Please if you have any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks rjmlakota

rjmlakota,
I haven't heard ny feedback on the Eagle. I have two GPS receivers a Magellan 2000 & a garmin gps 12, whic is the one I use on my quads.Aside from the quality of manufacture, the main difference to be concerned with is the number of satellites a unit will track. Older units track as few as 8, while newer ones will track 12 allowing faster fixes in poorer conditions. The Garmin gps 12 tracks 12 and gets a fix almost immediately, has 5 pages. It will give you current speed, top speed obtained total trip mileage, and more.
It has more bells & whistles than you would ever use & is $149 brand new with warranty and on-line help info.Oh yes, it also interfaces with a pc so you can print out maps of trip routes in advance.
Bottom line ? why buy a used model of unknown ancestry when you cn get a name brand new one for the sme price? Cabela's carry most of the GPS brands. They have a web site & Garmin has their models listed on their site also.
