my cousin teaches these courses and i am his "personal assistant", if you will
basically the 1st few lessons are about the right type of riding gear, and making sure that you know where all of the controls are on the atv. you learn the right way to get on your atv (sounds ridiculous, i know) and how to start and stop it. you will learn how to lean to the inside of turns and the proper weight shifts (as the atv is "rider active"). you will learn about the local atv related laws, clubs, etc. you'll learn to hop logs, go up hills the correct way............ and i think thats about it.........overall a really great course for new riders
oh yeah, and have fun while taking the course, it is by no means a test or anything......................450kodman

ok thank you for the information, I consider myself a seasoned rider, and the only reason im attending the saftey course is because they will pay me $100 and the free food, I was told the course will last 4 hours, thats an easy $25 an hour, this course is only open to people that purchaced new ATV's from the dealer, thanks again.

I took it when I bought my first quad. I had never ridden before and found it very helpful. It definitely was a confidence booster. Since you're already a seasoned rider, sign up your wife, girlfried, significant other, brother, sister, father, mother, etc., to take it in your place. You still the the cash and a someone else who may not be an experienced rider gets a lesson for free!

not only you should be able to take the course, but if you bought a new quad, your whole family could take the course with you. not sure how it works in PA but in NY an entire family can take the course with the purchase of even one new atv, the dealer will supply the other atvs

Took a course a few years ago and got paid $100. It was fun and very informative. I believe their was a total of 6 people in my group including myself. It took approxiamately 4 hours. You will learn about: "SIPDE" which is Scan, Identify, Predict, Decide, Execute.
