car question
#1
so last night I was out driving around in my camaro, and I got on it alittle bit, and when it got to around 5k it seemed like it slips into neutral, and doesnt shift out....anybody have an idea of why this could be happening?

I am guessing it's an auto. Is this a persistant behavior? Did it drive okay after this? What have you done so far to diagnose the problem? Is it pulling from a stop okay? Sounds like it is slipping. Check the fluid. If it is slipping, you may just need fluid and if not you are looking at a number of possible causes. Are you much of a wrench? I have rebuilt a few autos and they are no fun. I wouldn't even have tried if I weren't cheaper than I am lazy. Provide a little more specific info and it will be easier to help.

Yes it is an auto. It takes off fine from the start. It normally only happens between first and second. I can prevent it from happening if I am on the gas 90% of the way...I am not much of a wrench but my dad is a mechanic.
