I was watching the news today For where live (pittsburgh P.A) and they had a thing on atv's and how more and more kids are gettin hurt on them. And they recomended that ALL SAFETY GEAR should be worn and I totally agree!! Why would you even want to ride a quad without a helmet. They showed a video of a kid who looked about 11 years old riding a suzuki 300 utility quad, doing a jump with no helmet, no pants(he had shorts on),T-shirt, and he was wearing sneakers NOT boots! Why cant people just be responsible and wear THERE SAFETY GEAR!!!!!!!! There making a bad name for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't own any safety equipment.... I guess I'm stupid too..... but then again, my old Bayou doesn't do jumps or high speed. I don't wear a helmet on the lawnmower either.

Lt250rman I agree with you, and I blam it on the half witt parents. If I ever saw a kid ride an atv around where I live without proper safety gear I'd go right up to the father and lay'em out and when he recovers I'll try to get it through his think skull that thats how his kid is going to feel after a 400lb quad comes crashing on top of him.
People only with half a brain should spend more time looking for the other half.LOL.

Most of the idiots in my State usually come out on the holiday weekend, other than that most of the quad riders who are regulars are pretty responsible. We have already had too many places shut down! If the place i ride at now gets shut down then i don't know where i would ride. Idiots on quads and beer dont mix, they usually toss their empties into the woods. And if you are not riding with a helmet then you cant be having any fun!

I own all the safety gear.Helmet goggles, gloves, chest protector, alpinestar tech 6 boots, axo pants, fox jersey. But when I am just messing around at my house I ussauly don't where it all just long pants, helmet, goggles, and sometimes gloves whene it is cold.I where I all my stuff when I race though.I started to ride with no helmet often but stopped I just don't want to have my brains scattered all over theplace due to my irresponsiblitly.

I had put a post about this and it's been deleted ("off topic"). So I won't say much about it, just that it looks like it's normal to ride an off-road vehicle without helmet. Those of you who saw the backstreet boys last video will know what I'm talking about. They want to be idols, but they do the wrong things!! Riding an off-road vehicle (that is quad or snowmobile -or dirtbike for that matter-) without helmet, and all children will see this and say "look mom! see you don't need any helmet! they don't". Shame on them and anyone who rides with no helmet (in offroad conditions).
PS for I can't remember who had the time to say "your kidding......right?" to my deleted post. Sadly I'm not.
