I have noticed that some quads have different size wheels front to rear, ex...12" in front and 10" in rear, while others have same size all around.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of the different and or same wheel size?

Most people probaly do in for looks, but there are real reasons. Using a taller rim means less rubber because the rim is taking up more height. This saves weight, and also reduces the amount of sidewill flex. It also means less rubber between the rim & ground so jumping on sport bikes, or hitting rocks on utlitys, means the ground contacts the rim more which can bend/nick it. On some tires, having a smaller rim makes the ride smoother because the tire flexes more. Tire/wheel combo's with smaller rims are also cheaper than combos with larger rims.
