Rhinos ruining single track trails?????

I just bought a surplus T-72 battle tank, and need a place to use it. Anyone want their trails widened It would be helpful if there were a few dirt bike riders to crush also

Just make sure it's something manly, like Spiderman. Don't want to be caught drinking out of a Strawberry Shortcake cup.

Yea, you really got to watch out for the lawsuits. You run over a city police car, and sherrif's department sues you for discrimination.

Nice to see the spinners can manage to turn any thread they so desire into a mass of steaming crap. We've even managed to get the spinner wannabes in here too to sling dung like a barrel full of monkeys. You guys are a lot of fun but sometimes I actually like to discuss the issues instead of personal beefs or whatever topic crawls into someone's head halfway through a discussion.
I know this is getting legitimate debate time on other sites and maybe in the land/trails/environmental section of this site. For those of us who don't live in the sandbox or spend our lives on the track, this is a serious issue. Thanks to the members like Glen and Gusin who shared their opinions and thoughts on the subject.

Ya know what maddog, I kind of think this thread was a "steaming pile" from the start. If I am riding on public access land, I don't mind sharing it with whomever. The reality of it is, side by sides are bringing in people that may have never owned an atv, and in the big picture, we need those numbers to keep trails open and new ones forming. In the past 10 years or so, new municipalities are finally seeing that there is money to be made from the ORV crowd, and at least in the south and east there are more and more destinations opening, and towns making us more welcome. Many of those trails are either one way, or pretty darn wide. Watch how America works, just follow the $$. Rhinos welcome, lol. If dirtbikers or atvers want exclusive rights to public trails, then there needs to be a system for the ruv's, the offroad trucks, the amphibs, etc, etc. and no one is going to have a decent amount of trails. If you want single track or tight atv trails, either buy your own land or make buddies with someone that has land to use. If you are riding at a privately held park, then it is up to the owner to decide how the trails are laid out and utilized.

I don't care if you don't see eye to eye with me scooter, I just didn't like all the bs in the thread.
I'm not saying that rhinos shouldn't be allowed to ride in recreational areas. They are allowed anywhere buggies and trucks are here in MI. But as of right now, they're not allowed on most of these trails and yet they're there anyway squeezing down trails that are made for smaller vehicles. When these side by sides get away with it, why shouldnt the jeepers? And if they can, why can't anyone in a pickup truck do it? It's just a little wider right, no big deal?
I have no problem riding on mixed traffic trails/roads, but these SxS's are not sticking to the areas they're legally permitted to drive in. ATVs don't belong on motorcycle only trails, why should it be any different for SxS's?
IMO if the local/state govts decide that side by sides can run the trails then they'll make them wider and designate them as SxS trails. Until that day these people are breaking the laws and the responsible atv and mc community should view these people in the same light as the atv and bike riders who tear off into unmarked illegal territory off the designated trail and ruin it for the rest of us.

I absolutely agree if the state/town/whoever has a 50" limit, or says no side by sides, no over 800cc, no over 1000lb, whatever, if that is the law, then that needs to be adhered to. Cutting down a fence to bypass a 50" gate is a big no no in my book, and those people should be reported whenever possible. I just don't think you can expect all of these public access systems to adhere to that rule forever. reconranger, I have a lot of respect for you, and value your opinions. rr, God bless his soul, has an agenda and is quite open and up front about it. No biggie, but I don't think any of us will ever change his mind, so just having a little fun. Sorry, I am a sarcastic sob. Always have been and probably always will be. I trailer my quad at least an hour one way whenever I want to ride, because I wish to do so LEGALLY. Man, but I would love for Emporer Pataki and the mighty Empire state to open up some legal riding areas. Unfortunately, it looks more and more like our next governor will be Elliot Spitzer, and I'll be lucky if he doesn't sue me for having an aftermarket exhaust on my quad, forget riding areas.
