ok, since it seems that the yahoo briefcase thing is the cool thing to do, i did it, and uploaded(was a pain) the pictures i shot randomly with the dig. camera the other day.

notice the winch ones u asked about, what i don't like about the kit that fit on mine is that the roller head is farther back then my front brush guards, meaning when your not pulling strait on, say your pulling from the side or up somewhere, it rubs against the brushguards, and can remove the paint, so i think i'm going to 'engineer' something to protect them,,

also, i've been using my line saver to hold the hook.(you'll see in the pics), though i noticed that foreman used another attachment to hold his, and amazingly, i've never thought about doing that,, good idea.. thanks.

nice thing is that the kit mounts it way outta the way from trees and such stuff...

you'll also notice my new lights.. they're great..

ForemanES and TheBoy; great work, guys! And I thought I was the only winchaholic out here!

ForemanES, I'll probably plagarize your idea, tying the auxiliary line down with wire ties onto the racks; I may do so on the front racks (my rear toolbox is hard enough to enter already). I currently use an "H-shaped" plastic loom, ordinarily used to coil electrical cord; unsatisfactory for wire rope because the plastic bends and breaks and it's a mess. Zip-tied coil looks like the way to go; thanks for passing on a good idea.

TheBoy, your rig looks quite effective; you've a low pull point, and the winch definitely has no effect on your approach angle! You mentioned the cable rubbing on the tubes from side pulls; could you not simply mount your roller fairlead to the front of the tubes? There would be hardly any protrusion (approach angle wise), and you could pull over 90 degrees to the side without losing any paint. Then, you might just let the hook hang flat out front, taking up the loop to the fairlead. You'll see similar arrangements on winch-equipped trucks.

Good going guys; the pictures really soup up your posts (now how many words are they supposed to be worth?)!

If you do get a winch make sure that when the current is not applied that it has a brake mechanism. I have seen to many people winching and when they let off the power the winch also lets go..

Just for verification, I noticed you stated that you removed the 25ft of cable from the T1500 and replaced it with 50ft. I did not realize that you could put a 50ft cable on the T1500. That is good to know if you are going to replace the cable.

Again, thanks for the ideas.

EC.... yes 50ft fits with out a prob on the T1500. I did take the tension plate off because I have a good roller fairlead system, and it got bent so that it was grinding into the spool but since I took it off no probs...

also, another good idea that i did is to seal your winch extra good with silicone.

Well, it sounds like eeryone but me and my cousin has had good luck with the Superwinch. I'll tell you our experiences with them. we both immediatly took off the 25' cable and put 50' cables on ours. the it was off to testing them. i bought the winch less than 2 years ago, and had to replace 6 switches on mine. the winch worked great, just the switches will burn out on you. My cousin had the same problem, but not as many switches, he only lost 4. Unless they have made progress with the switches, i'd say stay away from Super winch.I ended up sending my winch back to Cabelas and upgrading to a Warn 2000Lb winch before the warranty expired. my cousin just lost his last switch about 2 months ago. no more warranty left on it, i went to a local ATV Parts house, and bought a Warn switch for it, and it has worked great since then. i wouldnt go with Superwinch personally because of the poor quality of switches, but however that is just my opinion.
