Good ti-down straps????What do you use????

What kind of straps do you riders use when towing your high-price toys around?
They seem hard to find in your local parts store here in Canada!!!
I bought some 1500 lbs rating ..........and one of four still broke on me!!!
I like the ratchet type over the cambuckle ones ..But I think the IRS on the quads cause these straps to be under spring load when towing........
I guess I will start looking for the 3-4 inch wide canvas trucking straps...But the price might scare me!!
Also I use a 8 1/2 by 10 tilting flatdeck snowmobile trailer...So they need to be tight!!!!
Some people I know at work will by straps from the dollar store to ti-down the $8,000-$10,000 dollar quad down!!!!!....That just don't make any since to me!!!!......Thanks.......Caper...........

I'm like you, I don't trust those cheap straps. I use a 1/4" chain on the back of the quad that is hooked on one side of the trailer, runs around the hitch on the back of the quad and then is hooked on the other side of the trailer. On the front I pull the quad forward with the winch which is hooked to a solid eyebolt on the tongue of the trailer to get the chain tight. Quad is then tight and secure. I also put a 2 1/2" wide truckers cargo strap with a really heavy duty ratchet thru the front frame of the quad and hook each end to the sides of the trailer. No slippage and none of this stuff is going to break.
I'm not just concerned about damage to the quad if it comes off the trailer but also in case of a wreck I don't want to have an issue about an unsecured load. If the load separates from the trailer you had better be able to show you have used reasonable methods to keep it secured. Otherwise you can have sever liability problems.
