Your friend asked you to commit fraud, lying about the cause of damage ("tree branch").

While I doubt it would make any difference to the insurance company whether you accidentally broke the window or the damage was a result of a storm, I'm amazed at the posts counseling lying on the Forum. Lie to get something fraudently covered under warranty, lie to get a manufacturer to replace a part, etc.

Clinton wonders about his legacy; perhaps we've discovered it.
